Sawyer County
Trail Condition Report and Trail Map 2/22/12
Sawyer County trails have improved with 2-3
inches of fresh snow; however they are still rated as in fair condition. The trails running
along the highways and in open areas are covered white now, but there are still some dirt spots along these runs.
The trail systems out in the woods benefited from this new snow, now there is a frozen base with a couple inches of fresh
snow to keep the tracks lubricated and the sleds cool. Lake trails (which make up about 25% of our trial
system) remain in good shape with some great riding to be had on them. Groomers are still parked at this
time with more snow needed for them to run and be helpful. This weekend is forecasted to have mild temperatures
in the 20’s and some snow flurries. Bottom line, trails have improved to fair condition in Sawyer
County with a few inches of fresh snow to keep sleds running smoothly and this weekend has been forecasted for some more snow
coming.
